Eva Trinczek was born in Poland
and grew up in Germany. She immigrated to Canada more than 20
years ago. Eva spent the first six years in Oakville ON where
she met her husband. They moved to Vancouver Island in 1990 with
their 3 children and have been living in the Cowichan Valley
ever since. Eva, mostly self-taught, has always had a natural
love for art and artisan products. Much of her creativity was
inspired growing up in a modest home where many things were hand
crafted. In 2003 after raising and home schooling her 3 children,
Eva decided to actively produce and market her art. Starting
with small watercolour paintings she soon experimented with larger
canvases and with different mediums, like pastels and acrylics.
Eva's newest endeavours are jewellery making and silversmithing,
a career dream since grade 10. For Eva inspiration is everywhere,
most of all in nature.
Eva's paintings, art cards and jewellery can be found at Imagine
That Artisans' Designs in Duncan, BC, as well as the Duncan Centre
for the Arts and Oakleaf Gallery in Chemainus. When visiting
Duncan, BC, enjoy the town's Market Square, where 13 banners,
showing Cowichan Valley flowers and birds painted by Eva, are
currently on display until the end of October 2005.
